A New Beginning

I have woven grosgrain pink, purple, and green ribbon of different widths to make the bodice for Jenna's Easter dress this year.

This is the fabric for the rest of the dress and the lining.

Some of you may remember Kellen's Easter dress from last year. Jenna really like Kellen's so this year I'm making her a similar dress. Jenna's will have teeninsy itty bitty buttons rather than pearls. I'm not real sure about the rest, but the plan right now is to make a smocked sash for the waist line. I really didn't realize how much the colors and fabrics were when I bought this the other day, but Jenna's will be mostly pink whereas there wasn't any pink in Kellen's. Also, Kellen's bodice was all one color and Jenna's isn't. So, I guess they won't be THAT much alike.

It's time to sew the buttons on.

Julia, This is inspired. While I'm not a huge fan of little frilly things I genuinely can't wait to see this one.

Fabulous!!! Such a beautiful idea! Do you underline the ribbon fabric or stabilize it in some way? It is amazing!

Oh my! What a cute cute dress! Makes me want to have a little girl around again ;) Can't wait to see it completed. A short tute on how you do this would be great if you have time. Especially curious if and how you stabilize the bodice.
