My goodness, my last two posts have been way too long. This one will be shorter, I promise.
I really am teetotally done in my sewing room, now. That doesn't include the fabric closet, but everything else is done. Here's a picture. The "art work" over the bed is the first garment I ever made when I was about 9 years old. It is a halter top. I decided to frame it. Of course, you recognize the beautiful wall hanging quilt that my friend made. I got the bed cleaned off, so now someone could actually sleep in it. The sewing machine was my husband's grandmother's.
I also went through our grand children's toys. Underneath the red striped fabric is a rack full of their dress-up clothes. The shelf has some of their toys. I have lots more toys upstairs. My husband's exercise machines are in front of the shelf. The orange rocker was my mom's when she was a little child. It's at least 84 years old! I painted it orange when I was a teenager.
This is the closest I have ever come to quilting. I made 12 of these appliqued squares about 28 years ago. I was going to make 2 twin bed quilts for our oldest two daughters. Then, I found out I was pregnant with number 3 and realized that I would never be able to finish 3 quilts, at that time of my life, anyway. I have made pillows from some of them. I'm not sure what I want to do with the rest. Any ideas??????????
Priceless art work!!! Our grand daughters painted these pictures for us when we visited a few weeks ago. The heart, sunshine with sunglasses, dollar bill, and bowl of fruit were painted by our oldest. The flowers and house were painted by the 4 year old. The butterfly resting on a flower in the bottom picture was painted by the 7 year old. She recently had a drawing of hers in a state wide exhibit!!! Only 4 or 5 were selected from her whole school. It was a self portrait. Now, I need some art work from our two youngest grands to frame.
Today, I am cleaning, throwing away, and organizing in our kitchen.
The Mothers are doing fairly well today. Mine is still confused. I have talked with the activities director about bringing refreshments when the "REAL" garden club comes the next time. She said that would be fine.
My husband's mom has spent her first night at the nursing home and seems to be adjusting ok so far.

You are in full spring cleaning mode! Congrats on finishing the sewing room. It looks great. I love your blocks and I know you'll come up with something very creative to do with them. You're always full of wonderful ideas!
wow- looks wonderful Julia- you have been a busy gal! I love how great I feel after I clean up and organize- almost like you can breathe easier:)
Spring cleaning is a good feeling. I'm amazed you can get so much done with so much else going on in your life!
You have lots of energy , I envy your strength... With lots of things going on in your life and you still have time and strenght to do this? Wow, you are fantastically superb...lol
Wow, I need some of that spring sewing room motavation. Your blocks are beautiful. You can make book bags or doll quilts out of them for the grandkids. What ever you choose to do with them it will also be beautiful.
I love the way you have framed the garment you made when you were little. Such a wonderful idea.
I love that you framed your grands artwork. I intend to do the same when my little ones are big enough to do something. Right now, I have refrigerator art scribbling!
Lovely pictures. Julia, why not finish the quilt? Use white blocks alternately and make one quilt from the squares you have left. I think you'd enjoy having it completed.
I think you should put those blocks together and make a quilt! I am happy to hear that the mothers are doing better.
xo

Love the framed artwork! I did that with some of my son's creations when he was young. It remains my favorite art in the house!
