My Mother-In-Law Needs Your Prayers

My Mother-in-law fell this afternoon about 5:00 and broke her hip. I just got home from the hospital. I brought my father-in-law home. I'll take him back in the morning. The hospital is about 30 or so miles from here. My husband is staying with her tonight. She will have surgery tomorrow afternoon. She has Alzheimer's, so she doesn't understand why she is hurting and why she can't turn over, and why she can't get up, etc..... so it is going to be difficult for her.
One of my husband's sister will probably stay with her tomorrow night. She's having surgery for carpal tunnel on Thursday, though. Another sister was planning to come in on Thursday and take my in-laws to visit some family in Atlanta for the weekend, so she's going to come on in to help out. So, it won't be too bad, as far as having plenty of help.
Thank God my sister is here this week so that Mother has someone to go up to feed her, etc... We are hoping that it will work out that my mil can go to the same nursing home where my mom is for her rehab. It is only 5 minutes from our house. My in-laws are next door.
I took the dresses to my friend today. She seemed very happy! That's always a relief!
I am so keyed up that I don't think I'll be able to sleep, but I'd better go try anyway.

Please keep my husband's mom, and his whole family in your prayers.

Oh yeah, Lil' E's had her first haircut. It was long enough to donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which is kind of like Locks of Love. I think she looks adorable.

Julia, I hope things go well with your MIL today. Keep us posted on how she is doing. I sure hope she rehabs in the same nursing home as your mother. It would make things much easier for you.

Your granddaughter is so cute! How sweet of her to donate her hair!

You always know a day like that is coming as we get older. I'm happy you have help. Take a deep breath when things get too much for you because you're important to so many people. I hope she recovers quickly and that he will be ok with her missing. Prayers all around...

Little one looks good with her new do.

I am so sorry. Your MIL may be in for a long recovery, since she cannot process things normally. What a shame. My mother's hip broke and I know what a time that is. Sending prayers and good thoughts to your family.

Take care of yourself too. You're going to be busy, so take a breath now and then and exhale.

Your little granddaughter is so adorable. Cute haircut! They grow up so fast.

So sorry to hear about your MIL's fall. It is more difficult when they can't understand. I remember that time with own MIL's broken hip. May all of you feel our thoughts and prayers.
