My Newest Project In Progress!

I would love to say that I made this beautitful quilted wall hanging, but those of you who read my blog often already know that I didn't. My friend, Diana, made it. She offered it to me as a swap for 3 little slip dresses for her grand daughters. Who is getting the better end of this trade? ME, FOR SURE!!!! She even threw in a bunch of Sew Beautiful and smocking magazines!! That's what kept me occupied on our trip to the NE recently. It sure made the trip not seem so long.

Last Easter, I made one of our grand daughters a little slip to go under her dress. When Diana saw it she asked if I could make slip dresses for her little ones like it, except ones that they can actually wear as dresses rather than slips. This one is a little too thin for that.

The oldest one is getting this lavender polka dotted fabric. This is the flower I embroidered for the bodice of hers.

The pink is for her second grand daughter, who LOVES pink. I think this is my favorite embroidered medallion of the three.

And the three year old, who doesn't care what color she gets is going to have this pretty blue floral fabric for hers. I guess these are hydrangeas. I embroider as if I'm drawing. I don't use patterns, I just go for it.

I'm off to a meeting about our 40th class reunion. I'm running late!

I have a question! I have several new followers, YEA!!, but I cannot find a way to go to their blogs. I used to just click on followers' pictures and it would direct me to them. That is not happening now. How do I get to them?

I'm a big fan of embroidery... those are beautiful....ofcourse I do mine with a machine.. but I learned to do it by hand when I was young. And you don't even use patterns??? amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing the dresses.

Beautiful work, Julia. I don't know how to get to the "newbies" followers, either.
