I'm Not A Quilter, But.....
....my cousin is! Isn't this gorgeous? She brought it up to the house for all of her siblings and cousins to see while we were all congregated at my house. We had a wonderful weekend. My Mother was in Seventh Heaven! Now, on to Halloween costumes. I bought the fabric, etc... for the two Indian Princess dresses. One is Pocahontas and the other is Sakegawea. I watched the Disney Pocahontas movie and part of "The Night at the Museum" to see what these two ladies wore, or at least in these movies. I'm sure that the real ladies dressed much more functionally than their movie counterparts wore. But, my grands only know the movie versions, so that's what they expect. A friend called this morning to see if I would make her niece a Pocahontas costume. Talk about timing! I was on my way to buy fabric for my grand daughter's. She also wants a corduroy jumper. On to the sewing room.......!
I am a grandmommma who loves to sew. I also love any creative outlet that I can express myself in, such as painting, drawing, sherenshnitte, and writing. I am the "baby girl" of my mother who is in a nursing home. I wish I could get into her head to understand what is going on in there sometimes. I will reflect upon my observations, therefore, using this as a therapy of sorts for myself.
