A little progress.....

I've made a little progress on the auction dress. As you can see, I set-in the smocked section into the bodice. I just cut out the bodice from a pattern I have and laid it on top of the smocking. I then cut inside the smocking borders. Next I cut a straight piece for either side panels for the skirt that were 3 times wider than the side pieces of the bodice. I gathered those and stitched them to the bottom edges of the bodice sides. Then, I ran the piping all the way from the hem, up around the smocked part, and down to the hem again. Going around the corners at the top was a little tricky. So far, so good, as for how I have this envisioned.
When do you do your best envisioning? I do mine after I go to bed at night. Sometimes I will lay there for an hour, two, or more, thinking about my projects and what I want to do with them.
Do you like seeing your blog's title on people's sidebars? It always makes me smile and startles me somewhat to see mine on other blogs.

This is really gorgeous. Your grandchildren don't have any idea how lucky they are. And this should bring a pretty penny for the auction....

I wish that I knew how to smock. I have spent more $$$ on smocked dresses for my girls!

The dress is gorgeous.

Beautiful smocking.

I lay in bed quite often dreaming of my projects, future projects, and thinking of ideas, or when I'm doing laundry, dishes, cooking dinner, driving .....

I really like to see my blog on other blog's sidebars because it sends traffic my way. That is how I have found so many amazing blogs. I click on the blogs on people's blog lists. That's how I found you so long ago it seems. I feel like we've been friends for as long as I can remember.

It is coming along beautifully; I do like the floral as piping. I never expected to see this much progrees so soon!

Julia- sorry I have not checked in for a bit- so behind! The smocking is so gorgeous! You are a very talented lady!

I do my envisioning at night before I fall asleep also- and often waiting places- like the doctors, etc. I always have a little notebook in my purse in case I have good ideas when I am stuck waiting somewhere.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!
