Painting the Town..........and an ominous sky.........

The daughter of one of the nursing home residents works at a furniture store here in town.  She suggested to the owner that he let me paint the Christmas scenes in his windows this year.  I was thinking of asking him myself.  I noticed that someone had painted them for him last year. He wanted one Santa painting and one
nativity painting.   So, that's what I did.  He paid me for my work.  This could be a fun little part time job!

The other night we had some terrible storms all around us.  I took these first two pictures from our driveway facing the North.  For the last one, I just turned around and took one facing the South.  What a difference!  We were fortunate that no tornadoes touched down very close to us, but doesn't that look like a funnel cloud to you?  There was a tornado in Chattanooga, which is about an hour from here.

Those are some mean looking sky pictures. Glad it kept its distance from you.

Julia , you always do good with window painting , I Like to paint on windows too, but I've never did any like this . Glad you did not get much of this storm . What city do you live in ? My Oldest daughter just moved to Paris, Tenn this past summer and she was telling me they had tornado warnings all day that day .

Oh, Julia, that christening gown is over the moon GORGEOUS! What a beautiful creation.

Of course, you know how I love your paintings you've shown before ... these are just wonderful.
Good for you, hope this venture puts lots of jingle in your pockets.

TY for your sweet note ... I am doing better.

Have a BOO-TEA-FUL weekend!

Wow, that storm did look ominous. Glad you were all safe. Your paintings look perfectly festive. Do you use acrylic paint when you do these? It sure takes talent. Do you paint them from the inside or outside? If from the inside, I would have a hard time getting the layers right! Way to go!

That does look like a funnel cloud!

You did a great job with the windows! Do you want a part time job?

Glad the tornadoes missed you. Did you realize that below the Nativity is the word "LazyBoy"? You do wonderful work, but the owner might have chosen a different spot!

Great work and wonderful side job (like you really need that) for you to do. It reminded me of a child when my sister would paint Christmas scenes on our porch windows that faced the highway. People would wave and honk horns passing by.

Wow, those Christmas paintings are wonderful!! They would look great on cards, too. (hint hint!)

Julia, your window paintings are so pretty. Excellent job. I think it would be a wonderful part-time job for you. I can't imagine anyone doing it better. It's perfect.

The sky does look dark and scary. You can always feel that threat in the air, can't you? Thank you for linking to the Boardwalk Bragfest, Julia! Great post!
