Dang!
Stupid insurance companies. They're happy to take your premiums but not too happy to pay out.
Maybe there'll be a machine sale at a dealer near you.
I really think that something may not have been done correctly when it was serviced and would hint (strongly) to the shop that they are liable. Do they not guarantee their repairs, etc.
Just an idea. I feel your pain.

:( Oh no!
I am so sorry to hear about your machine. What a bummer it is for you with all the beautiful sewing that you do!! I would definitely go back to the place that repaired it in the first place.
Your costumes that you've made are adorable. I need to finish a couple here too.
So sorry to hear about the death of your local marine. What a tragedy it is for his family and friends.
So sorry to read about your sewing machine and also sorry that it is not covered.
Ouch! Did they say why? I know that's nosey.
I am so sorry!
I don't know about you, but I'd be crying over this! I need to get my serger timed. It busted a needle. It's never done that in 18 years.
Oh no! Julia, that's terrible!
I am so sorry on the demise of your machine, but so thankful there was no damage to you or your home.
Oh Julia! So sorry to hear that. What's your game plan?
What kind of insurance do you have that would cover sewing machines?
Julia- I came over to catch up. I am sooo sorry that your machine blew up and is not covered. I hope someone can borrow you a machine until you can get a new one- I know how much sewing means to you. The costumes you have posted so far are so adorable- I love the shells and pearls in the skirt-so cute! Sending you hugs today!!! xxxooo
Such a bummer! I hope you are able to get a new machine soon.
Thanks for writing valuable post concerning the subject. I’m a fan of the site. Keep up the truly amazing work.
