I still don't have my machine. The couple who own the store where I bought it and where it will BE REPAIRED??? had to leave town suddenly because of a death in their family. They are back, now, though, and he said he would try to let me know something toward the beginning of next week. In the meantime, my daughter hasn't had a chance to send hers to me. Hurricane Irene kind of got in the way of her being able to do much besides try to figure out how to survive three young daughters with no power and no water for 7 days, now!!!!!! But, my friend has loaned me hers, so I'm going to be sewing today!!!!

Hang in there, Julia! That hurricane was so terrible - I'm just now learning of the devastation in our area - terrible flooding and loss. Oh my, it's so sad.
I'm glad you have a friend that can lend you a machine.

I hope you get some good news about your machine. That's a long time to wait for an answer.
It's really nice to have such a good friend who is willing to loan hers!
I can't even begin to imagine how you've felt without a sewing machine. It's part of you! Glad to hear you have a loaner.
Things can never be simple, can they? I hope it all gets sorted out soon and you are back to humming on the machine. In the meantime, bless your friend for loaning you hers!!!!
I hope you get your machine back soon! We've had a rash of things breaking down around here- cars, well pump, etc. I better be extra careful with my machine...
Oh, I had hoped for good news for you, Julia. I'll bet you are fit to be tied. Hope this next week brings your 'baby' home.
Hope you have a beautiful holiday weekend

I remember a very bad winter storm in Oregon as a junior high student. We had no power for a week and it was cold! My dad finally rented a propane heater so we could at least stay warm in one room. Somehow we made it through. I do hope your daughter's power is on now. That is a long time with little ones. So glad you have a machine to borrow.
Oh Julia, I will pray for your daughter to get her power and water back right away. Wow! This must be terribly hard. I am so sorry.
